Elevating Professional Headshots with the Cleveland Foundation

Creating visually impactful images is always a top priority in my work as a photographer, and my collaboration with the Cleveland Foundation to update their company headshots was no exception. This project went beyond traditional headshots, utilizing the foundation’s stunning office spaces as unique backdrops. The result? Cohesive, professional portraits that not only capture the essence of each employee but also reflect the vibrant atmosphere of the organization.

From the start, it was clear that the Cleveland Foundation wanted something more than typical corporate headshots. My goal was to ensure that each portrait would represent both the individual’s personality and the organization’s values. By using the variety of beautiful settings within their office, we added depth and character to every shot, giving a distinctive yet unified look to the entire collection.

Preparation played a key role in making the process efficient and enjoyable for everyone involved. I developed a comprehensive prep guide for employees, which included tips on wardrobe choices, how to prepare, and what to expect during the shoot. By sharing this in advance, we streamlined the process, allowing each person to arrive ready, relaxed, and confident.

A polished, professional appearance was another essential element of the headshots. We partnered with Makeup by Merideth to provide quick touchups for each employee, ensuring they looked and felt their best. This level of care helped enhance their natural features and boosted their confidence, resulting in authentic, engaging portraits.

The project spanned four days, with nearly 80 employees photographed, including extended sessions for the leadership team. Despite the number of participants, each person received individual attention, making them feel valued and comfortable throughout the experience.

Now that we’ve completed most of the employee headshots, we’ve scheduled quarterly sessions for new hires to keep their photo roster up to date.

The final images are now proudly displayed on the Cleveland Foundation's website, where each headshot reflects both the professionalism of the employees and the welcoming atmosphere of the organization.
